The Buffalo Boy

One afternoon in January I had the pleasure of visiting one of the amazing Cambodian families just outside Siem Reap. It was amazing to how the kids embraced total strangers and involved us in their evening play. And it was remarkable to follow those kids running barefoot through the fields, connecting to earth with such warm and happy energy. One boy in the family has through the years created an exceptional bond to their buffalos. While helping his dad out ploughing the field for the rice harvest, he more often than not rides the buffalos and there is a genuine trust between the boy and the creature. This boy's spirit is so pure and joyful and he has just the biggest smile. He is the "Buffalo Boy". © Unnur Magna 2019
